First day of competition in Montmelo circuit, Barcelona started with a non-expected sunshine, welcoming the twelve drivers of the 2017 F4 Spanish Championship certified by FIA.

In FP1, it was Valencia-based driver Marta Garcia (MP Motorsport), who flew to the top of classification with a time of 1.50,018, leading the Dutch team trio with Lundgaard in P2 and Viscaal in P3.

Right behind the orange team were Ivan Berets in 1.50,377 and Javier Gonzales ( Drivex School).

Alexander Smolyar (SMP Racing) showed in FP2, that he was ready to hit the top step of the podium again, setting the fastest time in 1.49,290, in front of Drivex School Javier Gonzales and FA Racing Guillem Pujeu who’s a shy 0.089 off from the leader.
Another strong performance from Marta Garcia, who ended the session holding onto P4 in front of Nikita Volegov and Sami-Matti Trogen.

All the drivers are withing 1.2sec, with Jakes Caouette, rookie from Drivex School, closing the field.

Tomorrow the action will start at 09.00 with the thirty-minute qualifying session, followed by Race 1 at 11.55, to finish the weekend with Race 2 at 16.00.
