JAVIER GONZALES AND NAZIM AZMAN JOIN THE F4 SPAIN CHAMPIONSHIP

August 31, 2017

As the F4 Spanish Championship certified by FIA hit the second round of its 17’ season, the Series welcomes two new drivers for the rest of the year.

MP Motorsport, 2016 Team Champion, got to its squad sixteen-year driver Nazim Azman from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After karting in Asia and lately in Italy, the new MP Motorsport addition headed to Formula BMW in Asia to finish the championship onto P4 in 2016. Coming to Europe to go ahead in his career, his choice to join F4 Spain came after he met MP Motorsport Team Manager, Sander Dorsman.

Nazim Azman, #17

“I did my first test ever last week in Barcelona, and for one day only. I have no experience of European track, but I really enjoyed the F4 Tatuus-Abarth car and I have a very good feeling with it. This weekend I will learn and gather experience, to step up to a higher category next year”

Drivex School scored the other newcomer, as they signed Javier Gonzales for the remaining of the season. González was born in 2000 and stepped into the European racing scene earlier this year following a successful experience in go-karts in Mexico winning the Rotax Max Challenge DD2 twice. The American driver is delivering brilliant performances in the FFSA Performance as he also took his maiden win at Nogaro and secured podium finishes at Spa-Francorchamps and Pau.

Javier González, car #58

“I could have stepped into the world of single-seaters earlier in my career as many drivers do. But you learn a lot in go-karts defending, pushing, managing your race strategy, etc. I think it is my strong point in the Formula 4 formulae. We chose to run a dual program in France and Spain because the Iberian series takes place at top circuits and the field is particularly strong. Despite we didn’t enter the curtain-raiser event, I expect to complete my preseason testing right now before hitting the track for the real thing on Saturday”

Javier Gonzales and Nazim Azman are now testing, with the other drivers from Round 2 in Motorland, and the F4 Spanish Championship wishes them good luck for the weekend!
