So far the young Dutch Bent Viscaal, had the perfect Day 1 as the MP Motorsport driver topped Friday practices and took double pole position for Race 1 and Race 2 on Saturday.

Race 1

Dutchman started the 25’+1lap Race 1 in pole, for the first time this season, and did not lost his cool when the lights went off. Viscaal took command of the race and never released it even though his teammate Christian Lundgaard, was pressuring him.

Alexander Smolyar (SMP Racing) was following the fight from afar, with little issues to keep up with the pace. Lukas Dunner (MP Motorsport) had a fantastic race from P4 when he suddenly lost control of his Tatuus-Abarth car to go straight in T3 and rejoined the fight behind Tuomas Haapalainen (SMP Racing).

On Drivex side, Javier Gonzalez had an incident with Nazim Azman as the Mexican driver locked up his tires and ended bumping into the Malaysian Rookie. Gonzalez got a two start position penalty, to be applied on Race 2.

Konsta Lappalainen who’s competing for the second time this season after his appearance in Navarra Round 5, went straight in T3 and then again in T9 to finally retire from the race.

Bent Viscaal took his 3rd victory of the season and led a doublé home for Dutch team MP Motorsport. Christian Lundgaard increases, by three mere points, his lead over Alexander Smolyar.

Race 2

Sunshine was greeting the last race of the day. Bent Viscaal was again sitting in pole-position with Lundgaard, Smolyar and Dunner behind him.

When the lights went off, the Dutchman flew away perfectly while Lundgaard got overtaken by Smolyar and therefore dropped down behind the Russian. Lundgaard put pressure on Smolyar during the whole race, taking the fastest lap in 1.27.158. But it had not been enough and Smolyar was the one finishing the 18’+1lap race onto P2.

Behind them, Javier Gonzales starting from P6 had to fight back and managed to overtake Haapalainen straight in Lap 1 and then set his sight on Austrian-driver Dunner whom he overtook mid-race to pass the chequered flag P4.

Guillem Pujeu had a very difficult start of the weekend as the young Spanish whom scored a podium in Navarra Round 5 finished the Race P8 only.
