BARCELONA ROUND 3 PREVIEW

September 16, 2017

Montmelo circuit is greeting the four teams of the 2017 F4 Spanish Championship certified by FIA for its third Round of the season.
On the outskirts of Barcelona, the Series will be host on the 4.655km Catalan circuit for a two-day event to start on Saturday afternoon.

Christian Lundgaard is still leading the championship with a total of 113 points while Tuomas Haapalainen (SMP Racing) is second with 60 points. However the Finn will be missing this round for school reasons and will be likely to lose his spot in the run for the title as Bent Viscaal (MP Motorpsort) is sitting right behind the Finn with 59 points while Alexander Smolyar (SMP Racing) has bagged 54 points.

Barcelona-round will be slightly different from the others as only one thirty-minute qualifying session will be conducted, followed by two 25’+1lap races on Sunday, on top of the two Free Practice sessions on Saturday.

Alexandra Consani, F4 Spanish Championship Promoter

“Finding time track in Barcelona is not easy. We had the choice to move the event on another circuit and organize a regular time-wise weekend. But we believe that Barcelona is the highlight of the season as all the drivers want to experience an F1 circuit where they will be driving in the future in any other higher category”

The action will start at 14.50 on Saturday, with FP1 setting the beginning of a thrilling weekend. Just hold on for the show!
